Production
Though Disney's Snow White is similar to the fairy tale version, there are several differences.
In the fairy tale, Snow White's mother wishes for a child with "lips as red as blood, hair as dark as the window frame, and skin as white as snow." This does not occur in the film, as Disney is shown with only her stepmother, the Queen, and there is no scene of her biological mother.
Snow White accepts three gifts from the witch (a girdle, a poisoned comb, and the apple), but is rescued from the first two gifts by the dwarfs. When she is offered the apple, she is unwilling to eat it and only accepts after the witch takes a bit of the apple that is not poisoned.
The Princess is not woken up by the prince's kiss. Instead, the prince buys the coffin and Princess's body from the dwarfs and has it carried with him towards his castle.
During the journey, a piece of apple in Snow White's throat becomes dislodged and she awakens. Lastly, The Princess faces her stepmother one final time after eating the poisoned apple.
The stepmother attends the wedding of Snow White and the prince, but she is stopped from causing further harm by being forced to wear hot iron shoes to her death.

Intro line
Once upon a time there lived a lovely little princess named Snow White. Her vain and wicked stepmother the Queen feared that some day Snow White beauty would surpass her own. So she dressed the little princess in rags and forced her to work as scullery maid. Each day the vain Queen consulted her magic mirror.
Quotes
SNOW WHITE: How do you do? I said, how do you do? GRUMPY: How do ya do what? SNOW WHITE: Oh, you can talk. I'm so glad. Now, don't tell me who you are. Let me guess. I know, you're Doc. DOC: Why... Why, yes! Yes! That's true. SNOW WHITE: And you're... You're Bashful. BASHFUL: Oh, gosh! SNOW WHITE: And, you? You're Sleepy. SLEEPY: How'd you guess? SNOW WHITE: And you? Ah... You're Sneezy. SNEEZY: Ah-choo! SNOW WHITE: Yes, and you must be... HAPPY: Happy, ma'am. That's me. And this is Dopey. He don't talk none. SNOW WHITE: You mean he can't talk? HAPPY: He don't know. He never tried. SNOW WHITE: Oh, that's too bad. Oh, you must be Grumpy. GRUMPY: Oh, yeah. Hah! We know who we are. Ask her who she is and what she's a-doin' here! DOC: Yes! What are you and who are you doin'? Uh, what are you... Uh, who are you, my dear? Oh, how silly of me. SNOW WHITE: I'm Snow White.
SNOW WHITE: I really feel quite happy now. I'm sure I'll get along somehow. Everything's going to be all right. But I do need a place to sleep at night. I can't sleep in the ground like you. Or in a tree, the way you do. And I'm sure no nest could possibly be big enough for me. Maybe you know where I can stay. In the woods somewhere?
THE QUEEN: Now, a formula to transform my beauty into ugliness. Change my queenly rainment to a peddler's cloak. Mummy dust, to make me old. To shroud my clothes, the black of night. To age my voice, and old hag's cackle. To whiten my hair, a scream of fright. A blast of wind to fan my hate. A thunderbolt to mix it well. Now, begin thy magic spell. But wait! There may be an antidote. Nothing must be overlooked. Ah, here it is! The Victim of the Sleeping Death can be revived only by Love's First Kiss. Love's First Kiss. Bah! No fear of that. The dwarves will think she's dead. She'll be buried alive!
THE QUEEN:Slave in the magic mirror, come from the farthest space, through wind and darkness I summon thee. Speak! Let me see thy face. MAGIC MIRROR: What wouldst thou know, my Queen? THE QUEEN: Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all? MAGIC MIRROR: Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee. THE QUEEN: Alas for her! Reveal her name. MAGIC MIRROR: Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow. THE QUEEN: Snow White!
THE QUEEN: It's apple pies that make the menfolks' mouths water. Pies made from apples like these. SNOW WHITE: Oh, they do look delicious. THE QUEEN: Yes, but wait 'till you taste one, dearie. Like to try one? Go on. Go on, have a bite.
SNOW WHITE: Once there was a Princess. DOC: Was this princess you? SNOW WHITE: And she fell in love. SNEEZY: Was it hard to do? SNOW WHITE: It was very easy anyone could see that the Prince was charming the only one for me. DOC: Was he strong and handsome? SNEEZY: Was he big and tall? SNOW WHITE: Their's nobody like him anywhere at all. BASHFUL: Did he say he loved ya? HAPPY: Did he steal a kiss? SNOW WHITE: He was so romantic I could not resist.
THE QUEEN: There must be something your little heart desires. Perhaps there's someone you love. SNOW WHITE: Well, there is someone. THE QUEEN: I thought so. Old Granny knows a young girl's heart. Now, take the apple, dearie, and make a wish.

Development
Walt Disney encouraged all staff at the studio to contribute to the story, offering five dollars for every 'gag'; such gags included the dwarfs' noses popping over the foot of the bed when they first meet Snow White.
Review
The Seven Dwarfs are actually an alter ego of Snow White (Schneewittchen) and even ourselves: many times we are rational, sometimes we are happy, grumpy, sleepy, bashful, sometimes we are cold and and we sneeze and rarely we're dopey. Queen Mother is a surrogate mother as all adoptive mothers sometimes become the Nemesis of the adopted child.
